Couldn't avoid it forever... HORMONES

So today I decided to try putting paper towel on the cage grates after cleaning to help keep my babies' cages cleaner, as suggested by a number of people. I'm always looking to make life easier

It was fine for Charlie and for Tommy, but it certainly affected Kyo in a way I didn't expect.

She immediately went under the paper towel, starting making really weird noises, and began regurgitating for me. I instantly triggered her hormonal behaviour that I've been avoiding guess she's going to have a poopy grate that I clean. No eggs please Kyo!! I felt bad because when I took it out she sat on the cage grate looking down at the paper underneath for about 20 minutes. She has of course been punishing me with bites ever since (but I know she'll get over it).

Anyone else have trouble with unexpected things triggering hormonal behaviour? She seems to be back to normal since I removed it... No eggs in this house!!!!

Rb goes NUTS for ny burrowing action... very reminiscent if his heritage of burrowing into limestone cliffs to nest in dear ol' Patagonia. During THAT time of the year, I have to stuff towels under chairs and the buffet or else he tries to move in and set up shop!!!!

Yep. Currently going through about 2 years of constant hormonal behaviour here myself. I have zero idea what's triggered it consistently for so long, and I'm at a loss. I'm looking forward to a few years in the future when it's calmed down and she's no longer a rampant, cage humping machine .

Also, the weirdest thing that triggers her hormonal behaviour is me cleaning her cage. Avery is normally cage territorial, but for some reason when I clean it she's convinced it's baby making time and wants to feed me and love on me.

Yea Kyo has never shown any sign of hormones until today... hopefully that will be the only thing that sets her off lol but I'm sure it won't be the last time...
