Do you cook / have a special recipe for your conure?

I hope you and all your fids are doing fantastic (and if not you are in the right place to get help). So, I am pretty paranoid when it comes to feeding my conures. I had them on a seed/pellet diet, but it was way too much seed and not a whole lot of foraging. So, I started to experiment with different foods. I came up with the following daily "fresh" cooked recipe that my birds absolutely love. I'll share the recipe below but I would love to hear others' ideas.

I have 2 Suns and a GCC and this recipe lasts about a week.

I soak 2/3 cup of beans in water overnight in a rice cooker, then I drain the water. I then add about a 1/4 cup of brown rice and a 1/4 cup of quinoa and a 1/4 cup of wheat pasta. Then I add about 2 cups of water and cook it on the brown rice setting.

After it cooks I feed everyone a fresh breakfast and the rest of the concoction is divided into seven 2oz containers. Every morning I nuke 1 container for about 45 seconds and feed that in a separate bowl along with some fresh veggies/fruit.

I then give them a very small amount of high-quality seed mixed with a great new food I found at Amazon. It is called "Goldenfeast South American Blend II". In another bowl, I feed InTune pellets for large parrots (the small is ridiculously tiny and my birds like to hold the pellets and break off pieces).

This may sound complicated but it takes less than 10 minutes to feed all three birds. So far they go crazy for this blend of foods.

I would love to hear what others do, especially with cooked foods. Oh, and the birds get human food when possible as well, usually in the afternoon.

Nothing has sunflower seeds so I have a little container as treats/rewards. Oh, I also feed millet, but it takes about 3-4 days for them to go through 1 sprig.

I'm a cyclist and health nerd, so I prepare a variety of cooked and un-cooked fruits and veggies (I'm the family chef). I regularly find my dishes burgled to give to the parrot. I think that overall, the items would combine to make what the folks here call "chop", but I prefer the ingredients separate, and apparently the little monster finds that acceptable. I supplement my diet with lean meats and natural carbs. He gets Harrison's pellets.

Your dish sounds pretty good to me. I'd need some hot sauce with it!

I don't own conures (I would love a Sun!) but I just wanted to post and say that that is great your bids get such a great variety. Love all the different kinds of stuff you add, and it sounds so easy to do!!

What kind of beans are you soaking?
I bought some bird bread mix from Harrisons but have not yet made it, anyone try that?

I mean, i usually soak them in oil, like refined sunflower oil in Ukraine - actually works good, my little birdie likes that a lot. You should try it as well.

I keep a little Kashi 7 Grain Pilaf on hand and throw in whatever veggies we have on hand.
