He has settled in great, I've had him for a few weeks now. We are buying our house so he still needs his first birdy vet trip but i was also waiting to get his harness for. (He isn't clipped).

He was on (all living things) cockatiel seed mix but I'm transitioning him into a basic chop. I make chop for a lizard i have so its mostly of a "things he doesn't like but needs to eat" chop for the bird so he gets used to eating greens and veg, he gets fruits later in the day bc i know he likes those lol

This week its just banana, strawberry, red bell pepper, and kale. He's finally stopped throwing the pepper on the ground and tantruming about it although he is being extra messy with it. He also appears to have eaten the kale this morning. :)

He has adjusted his bite pressure quite a bit and I'm no longer getting chunks taken out of my fingers! He will start pinching me if he feels i am not giving him treats to his satisfaction (unearned lol)

He loves to make the kissy sound a lot, so we pretty much spend all day making kissy noises at each other (I'm crazy I'm sure). He also likes to play "copycat " where i try to copy his sounds or him mine, but if i get really quiet, he does too in a birdie whisper! Its hilarious! A lot of the time if i make the kissy noises he does a really great laugh.

He's a bit hard to convince to come out of the cage, but once he does i can normally get him onto his "stick " and work from there.

He's such a smarty i can't wait to tighten up his rusty tricks and teach him new ones!

Hes pretty good at pottying on command, and knows if he wants out he has to poop....my man didn't realize this and thought he was scaring the literal poop out of the bird and felt awful. I was cracking up :)

I'm really glad i got this little fluffball. We are good buddies already and I'm sure we will only get along better over time.

I'm doing some stuff on my laptop so here you go :D
I will be phasing in green beans with no salt tomorrow, really trying to phase in veggies and greens at the start. Do you guys have favorite mixes? IF so, feel free to share your conure recipes! :)

Both of my conures detest greens.... I consider it a work in progress. My current tactic is to use a chopper to cut them up super fine and blend them into fruit so that they can't pick them out :25: It works to some extent lol. Conures can cuss with the best of them when they don't like what you serve for dinner :03:

i had to make puree for my skink for a while because she'd eat around the greens or actively spit them out. I will try this for Nibbler when I find my chopper! Although so far he's gotten over everything but the green beans. I'm having fun introducing new veg to him, I am cracking up over every new reaction to foods.

Got him successfully switched to Roudybush pellets and a limited chop as he still picks out his greens (can't find my did processor for puree ugh) but he has finally accepted his squash haha

My friend who i got Nibbler from came over to visit and Nibbler was... not so happy to see him. Started throwing a huge tantrum and trying to bite him through the bars. It was very sad :( my buddy was glad to see him doing so well though

I bought one of those little hand choppers with attached bowl for days when I'm too lazy for the food processor - and it blends the greens in well enough with the fruit that my GCC and sun can't pick them out to toss them :)

my friend actually just got me one of those, I havent tried it yet because I'm being bad about eating healthy at the moment heh heh. I'll have to break it out and try it. He's got a few more days of food in the freezer before i make a new batch. my animals eat radically better than i do.

He likes his pellets mushy, that seemed to help him eat everything but the greens pretty happily. He gets more showers than he did on seed, he's a mess monster :D

I had to put a "food shield" on the floor around where mine eat.... they get it everywhere on themselves, the walls next to them and the floor

He surprised me today, accidentally left how cage open (it has 4 doors) because i didn't know it was open then suddenly mid Smash-brothers here comes a Nibbler coming to land on me! Loool he probably just wanted apples bc the only time i give him apples id when he's out with me but it was still really cool :)
Plus he pooped on command right after and not on me or my couch so woohoo!

Victory! No poop on the sofa or you :18:

Very cool that he came out to see you - it's always a nice feeling when they come looking to be with you!

Well, finally had a free moment and we got Nibbler the full litany of tests. He was having a good time until it was time for the vet to take him back for blood and nails...he's still pretty cheerful after his tantrum in the car but I dont know if I will take him back in for a nail trim if it means the poor thing bleeds every time. Is that normal?

He's having a rough time hanging on to my shirt, so he's resting after stuffing himself full of millet. photo is pre blood draw and clip. He looked so cheerful i couldn't resist. :D

Aw he looks so cute! He's got a pretty good disposition if he's recovered from his tantrum :). Mine didn't speak to me until the next day after nail trims.... then all was forgiven and back to normal. Tango did have one nail bleed last trim and it stopped pretty fast with styptik.
