So, I have always been the one taking care of the birds in the morning. My husband always helps but never went through the whole routine routinely. I threw out my back really seriously, and the MD had me medicated, so husband took over for nearly a week. I felt better the other day and volunteered to do the whole routine and give him a break. I took down the seed holder (they get fresh veggies, fruit, beans, pellets and other stuff too, but definitely eat their fair share of a healthy seed mix) and almost fell over when I saw it was filled with beans, not seed! Hubby was feeding out of the "right" container but I had switched containers around a bit and he was on auto pilot. We also had run out of pellets for 2 days so an order to same day shipping for Harrisons was immediately placed.

My hubby is one of the most conscientious people in the world when it comes to animals. We have a LOT of critters, and everyone is always taken care of. This was just an autopilot mistake and could have been worse but nevertheless, it happened.

I am now going to label all of my containers and keep an updated feeding schedule on everybody in case of another emergency. You just never can be too safe.

This is such a good idea. I'm going out of town for 3 days in August and has already planned to have all food prepped and labeled, but I should probably write something up for the unforeseen need.
