Sudden anger

Green Cheek Conure named Raku
Often when I have Raku out of his cage he'll be doing fine but then suddenly start making angry grumbling noises and start nipping at me. Usually when he does that i just put him right back in his cage.

Other he times he seems to get angry out of nowhere is when he sees me typing on my keyboard. He'll run over looking angry and try to bite my fingers.

And also music seems to do it to him sometimes. He'll seem to be enjoying the music and bouncing and singing a long and then suddenly something switches and he runs over and bites.

Are these common behaviors? How should I respond?

How old is raku? My immediate thought depending on age, given the rather unpredictable nature (by the sound of it), it could hormonal aggression if he/she is just hitting puberty.

I don't know about the rest, but something about typing on my keyboard makes Peanut go crazy. She chases after my fingers and then she stands on my laptop and decides it's a good time to put her head down for a nice head scratch. Then if I move her away she comes charging back at my fingers. Something about the fingers moving on the keyboard, they're fascinated with it.

If he's really biting hard though and not just play nipping then I wouldn't use the keyboard while he's out anymore.

I must say, I have not perfected it yet, but watching my daughter when JoJo
does the same thing she starts grumping right back at him and the two of them go back-and-forth and then JoJo backs down and he goes back to what he is doing!

Fly free Plum, my gorgeous boy.
Maybe just get Raku out when you can devote attention to him, one on one and see if he is better? Noticed that Plum will sometimes get a bit grumpy when on the computer, almost like they feel they are being ignored.

Rio was like that whenever I had my headphones on playing games with friends. Would constantly bite the headphones and generally be a terror until he got his attention

If I put him back on my shoulder, heturns right around and walks back down to my hand...LIKE NOW!!!!   GRRRRRRRRRR!!!
