Green Cheek Conure
Hello everyone,

Sometime near the end of the summer I am flying out to the midwest to visit family for a week or two and I am trying to figure out what would be the best option for my green cheek conure.

I have already researched and understand the process for taking birds on flights (vet checks, carriers, ect) and am willing to pay for him to travel in cabin with me. However I worried if my conure is too young to deal with traveling. At the time of the trip
he will be around 4 months old. Is that too young or am I worrying over nothing? My other option is boarding him with his breeder while I was gone.

Anyone have advice over what will be the least stressful option for my bird?

Is he well behaved and quiet? Have you ever taken him on a car trip or short trip in his travel carrier and the cage you plan to use while on the trip? If not I'd do a few small trips to get him used to all of that before you take him on this big trip. I'm taking my sun conure on a 6 hour flight in August for the 1st time. However, we drove him from NJ to DC and stayed in a hotel for 4 nights with him and also to a cabin in CT for a few nights to make sure he's used to it. We also harness trained him...it took less than a day so that was lucky. I suggest you try it out on a small trip 1st so he isn't terrified for plane travel. By the way Ollie loves traveling and got to see all the Washington monuments! Pic below.
