Hi parrot form, I am new to raising a baby cinnamon turquoise green cheek conure. Something recently happened to my conure. It has some green color on the bottom of it left foot. And is standing on its right foot only more often than usual . Can anybody please tell me what is going on? He usually sleeps and eats on a rope that’s all natural with no dyes.

Feet issues are scary! I'm glad you're reaching out!
Do you have an avian vet? If you'll tell us where you are, we'll help you look for one. If a foot goes bad, it puts a lot of stress on the remaining foot, and if that one gets compromised, it can be a dire situation...
I don't know what's wrong... I just know that your darling may be in a dangerous situation.
Thank you for caring, and reaching out!

If you don't have an avian vet, try searching this site first.

Second, start calling around to any vet offices, pet stores or similar places and ask if any have recommendations on a vet that treats birds.

Once you find a vet, get the bird in for, at minimum, physical, history and a gram stain. If the vet feels it's necessary (which it's always good for a first visit), then also get blood work done. It wont be cheap, but it would be worth it.

Have you tried giving your bird a bath or just washing the foot? He may have simply stepped in some poop and it dried on. That happens from time to time.

My avian vet (in Nevada), actually recommended one in Roseville. There may be other great avian vets in the area, but I know that she is avian certified.

UC Davis also treats birds. I know someone else who occasionally takes the trip down there to get their birds treated.

my initial guess....would be stepped in poop...I'd wash the foot.....clark steps in poop all the time....I see him poop I'm like hold on and grab a paper towel and he's like no I didn't poop and ends up stepping on it as I try to move him away to pick it up.

Then see a vet for at least a checkup.

I’m near Sacramento as well. Roseville bird and pet clinic is great. Also Dr. Jeanne Smith has a Carmichael office as well as a Diamond Springs office. She only sees birds and is extremely well priced.
