Pineapple and green cheek conure are the same type of conure. "Pineapple" or Pineapple Green Cheek Conure, more precisely, is just a color mutation from the wild-type coloration. You also can't tell a conure's gender by the color of their feet. You will need to do a DNA test. They are NOT sexually dimorphic like some birds.

edit;; from the pics, I think he might be a cinnamon Green Cheek Conure. It's another color mutation like pineapple. A pineapple should have a lot more red and yellow on the belly, I think.

What Indy said! :)

What a cutie. You'll find all you need to know about conures here. Green Cheeks are so deservedly popular! While you're getting to know us, I'd recommend using the SEARCH tab above to read lots of good threads on diet, care, toys, etc.

I'm glad you're here.

This definetly looks like a cinnamon green cheek conure. A pineapple is simply a cinnamon yellow-sided. Pineapples have yellow on the sides and under the wings and red on the belly.

This is my wife's Pineapple at around three months old. Tail feathers were still growing in.

This is my pineapple. He's been DNA tested as a male. You can't tell sex without testing (sometimes a trained vet or breeder can tell by feeling the pelvic bones but it's not 100%) looks like yours has less yellow than mine so I'd say cinnamon. Both pineapple and cinnamon are just different variations of the green cheek conure. Beautiful conure you have!

No, it's not. Honestly anything within the pyrrhura family (i.e. like black capped conures, painted conures, maroon belly conures etc) has more or less the same general personality. Potentially an individual breeder might see certain types of personalities in each coloration, but that would be more related to how they're breeding their lines for personality. As they say, correlation is not causation.

Also, what's wrong with au natural ? 'Tis the best color of them all, for without it, you wouldn't have pinapples, cinnamons, or yellow sided green cheek conures.

The easiest way to tell the difference between cinnamon and pineapple is under the wings. Cinnamon is lime green under the wings and Pineapple is yellow under the wings.

Oh trust me he can be fast....it's amazing how he can go from awkward walk, to super fast escape mode in 3D space all over me when he doesn't want to get off me.

You have NOT seen Kermit fly...
He is my fastest flying bird (and he is molting right now and missing a few feathers) and can zip around the room before Clark can even waddle from the floor to you!
