Clark has passed his first hormonal phase and he seems to be more...."out there" before he was trusting but kind of timid in certain rooms like the kitchen; now he sits on my shoulder and screeches out... Like "come at me bro" more...vocal...

He's not aggressive towards me, not even when he was hormonal, but I'm guessing this is typical???? Now he feels like a man and less afraid of phantom non existent predators.... he just seems braver. I'm guessing this is totally normal.... comments? or discuss?

:gcc:

Green cheek conure - Sydney (Syd) Hatched 2/2017
Oh gosh that's quite scary. Syd is just over the 1st birthday mark and I have caught him doing quite naughty things again yesterday. Perched between a certain hanging toy and a perch with a foot on each (rather like doing the splits). When he saw me he carefully turned his back, but after a minute or so he suddenly squawked quite loudly stretching up to full height and rearranging his feet. Now I have the feeling that he would have reached for a cigarette at that point if he wasn't a parrot. He was definitely subdued for about half an hour.
He's a cheeky chappy normally so if after these goings on he becomes even more full of himself I might well think of moving out!

I'm looking forward...he's not, like I said aggressive, but more...outgoing, more seeking of attention, like he is less afraid of a predator and more looking to find a conure girlfriend to appear out of nowhere.

Don't panic - just speak in a really low voice! :D

But he might take on the neighbors and start a feud war! No I love him, he's really a sweetheart.

It sounds kind of like what I’ve experienced with Tango :). When Tango hit somewhere around 1.5-2 years (I don’t know his hatch date) he seemed to have a hormonal stretch of time. After, he started marching around with his neck feathers fluffed up, he stands up taller and I jokingly call him my little rooster. He’s not aggressive at all but seems like he’s “confidently strutting” somehow. He still likes to snuggle up to my neck and sit on me, so I just figure he’s just growing up lol.

yeah exactly he does this TALL stand up and lets out a "CHIRP!" like I'm the alpha or who's around not like a panicky contact call but a I'm the alpha call seems like.

Kermit also does the neck stretching, fluffing and strutting. He marches back and forth like this and does the high pitched call. Not sure of his hatch date (I forgot to ask the breeder) but I’m guessing he’s around 10 months old.
