Roudybush or Harrison's pellets?

Which pellets would you pick between those two brands? Roudybush or Harrison's?
Different topic but does anybody know a good hand feeding formula to feed their babies?

As far as I'm concerned it probably doesn't make much difference.

Both are in my opinion the best you can get pellets. The Roudybush is harder not as crumbly. The Harrisons is more expensive per pound and powders up more.

That being said I used to feed Roudybush but now feed Harrisons. Mainly due to the packaging. Roudybush is in a plastic basically zip lock with "windows" .
Harrisons is in foil lined bags. Air and light kill flavor and freshness fast. Plus the non GMO and organic certified is important to me.

Besides I think the Harrisons tastes better.

My reaction exactly. For a conure, six of one, half dozen of the other.

I have been feeding our young CAG Roudybush and Zupreen fruity blend, bought some Harrison’s....she loves it! Really prefers it to even her occasional seeds!

I feed Harrison's. In case conversion is an issue, I'll post my usual note on that...

Harrison's Bird Foods

I feed Harrison's, supplemented by fresh healthy treats. My first, and later, my current avian vet recommended it. My bird loves the pellets now, but to get him converted, my avian vet suggested putting pellets out all day, and putting seeds (his old diet) out for two 15-minute periods a day. That would sustain him but leave him hungry enough to try new stuff. I presume the same technique could be used to get him to eat other healthy stuff, like fruits and vegetables! My guy was eating pellets in a couple of days, and now I can feed a good variety of other stuff, knowing he has the pellets as a basic. Pellets are out all day... fresh treats a few times a day. I also like Harrison's via mail because I never have to worry about out-of-date products.

Harrison's taste, to me, like a cross between bread crumbs and sand. Deee-LISH!

I've just gotten Amy to accept pellets,per his CAV. They had Roudytush medium sized at their office so I picked up a bag. It took a few days for Amy to check them out but he IS noshing on them now,along with his birdie muffins.

I don't know if I want to confuse him by offering Harrisons. Maybe I'll get a small bag and see which ones he prefers

I recently switched from Harrisons Course to the Fine. My birds are eating it better with much less waste.

Wish they made a size between course and fine.

Heh Cytrynka the same.. used to eat Coarse, then bought her Fine and she eats fine better. Funny thing is, she used to get a bit with her beak, then grab it with her foot. Now with fine, she gets it with her beak and tries to grab it with foot, just to find out there's nothing to grab

Either or brand is fine, but I primarily stick to Harrison's.


I do believe that Harrison's used to make a size between course and fine but then decided that the birds who would be eating it could be fine with the larger or smaller size and got rid of it...
