Roux is going on 13 months of age. She's been slowly molting her body feathers and obtaining her adult plumage.

But today she flew to me (well flapped down to me as she's clipped) while I was on the sofa. Suddenly a big feather fell out onto the sofa. I think it was a tail feather.

A few hours later one of the clipped wing feathers fell out.

I have a tiel that has molted twice so I know what to expect. The tiel isn't tame
so I never saw any blood feathers.

I'm excited but it means my baby is growing up.

Do Suns usually molt body and main feathers at different times? How many times a year?

Sweet juv :)
My Cytrynka is molting all year round, but there are periods where it's more prominent (especially when she drops her primary flight or tail feathers, because body feathers are much smaller). It should be more or less symmetrical so once she looses left primary next should be right primary.
