cold/flu and birds?

This may be a dumb question but I need to make sure before I make a mistake. Is it ok for me to be around and play with my bird if I am starting to get a cold/flu? Can they catch whatever I have or are they immune to it?

I'm pretty sure our viruses can't be passed to our birds. I always take care not to "transfer" saliva though, as a general rule.

They can't as a rule catch our flu and colds but I just make sure I keep Cal away from my face and obviously don't sneeze/cough all over her.

probably the only thing they can catch from us might be bird flu, but i doubt you have that lol
