I bought this perch that is made for the shower, I have took her in the shower before but careful to not put any direct water on her. She actually seems to love it as long as I am already in there.
Anyone else or am I just weird? lol

A lot of people do this, heck I did it earlier today. It's a great way to get your bird to shower. My boy doesn't like being under the stream though so I usually just use a spray bottle. Some birds enjoy full on showers though!

Parrots can be so persnickety. Even birds in the same species. If you've got a routine in which your bird bathes happily, thank your lucky stars! Good for you, for finding something that works for you and your conure.

I have one sun conure that loves the shower perch....my other 3 birds look at the shower and perch like it is a thing of evil. If you have found a way that she likes to bathe, pat yourself on the back! I have 2 bowl bathers and 1 that only likes being spritzed with a spray bottle :).

I have one of those perches too. Unfortunately none of my three birds like the shower. Two of them happily bathe, though. One in his water bowl and the other gets a big pan that he really enjoys. My old blue crown Tootsie used to love to bathe all the time but she does not as often as she has gotten to be an old lady bird. So she gets misted though that is NOT to her liking and she will only tolerate it for a little bit before she flies off. Before I adopted Rosco, she used to come into the shower with me once in
a while though she didn't seem to enjoy it any. She just froze and stayed as far from the water as she could.

Sunny a female B&G macaw;
Japie (m) & Appie (f), both are congo african grey;
All are rescues- had to leave their previous homes for 'reasons', are still in contact with them :)
I just thoroughly soaked all of mine.

Japie would rather have a bath in his cage- but then he always half-floods everything around him...

I did get my macaw a showerperch alsmost immediately (I did not trust the usual ones, so I got her a humansized one)
looks horrible (the perch, never her ;) ) but works like a charm!

That is a great idea! I have a regular one for my Conure but am trying to get my Grey to the shower. I wouldn't trust the regular ones so would definitely use your idea.

Yep, I have one as well, and both my Senegal and my Green Cheek absolutely love to be right in the stream of the shower! My Quaker likes being on the perch in the shower, but doesn't really like being under the shower stream, so I'll flick water on her from the shower stream and she loves that...But my Senegal and Green Cheek will literally sit right in the shower, completely drenched, and sit there under the water for a good 10-15 minutes, the entire time whistling, singing, talking, etc. My Green Cheek is like a duck, I swear, he talks non-stop the entire time he's sitting in the shower steam, having a ball...

If I only had the greys to think about I'd just used the one I got from IKEA:
they have these low-budget showercurtain-poles that you just twist into place (so you can remove it afterwards or discard it they really don't like it)
just wrap it in fake-rope (no mold/ it's what I used), real rope (more and easier grip) or maybe even that vetwrap I read about here (no experience)

Since they clamp into place you can experiment where and how high you want to place the perch before you start drilling the walls ...

I had not much choice: small bathroom, large bird *and* me ...
you may have noticed she is pretty close to the wall -> if al all possible make sure if they duck forward the tail does not touch the wall -> they love to waggle-waggle while flapping water everywhere with their wings.

Cytrynka also makes those "quacky" voices when showering.... she can stay under shower for hours. Conures must have been ducks in their previous incarnation :D

Sierra loves to try and bathe using the condensation from a cold soda can. I can not even describe how she does it lol
