Green cheek conure - Sydney (Syd) Hatched 2/2017
I consider myself a reasonably good parront. I keep Syd's home clean, provide plenty of stimulation of the playing kind with toys etc. Teach him new words regularly and generally do my best to help him keep entertained. BUT if I inadvertently leave a plastic carrier bag anywhere he takes possession and rebuffs any attempt by me to remove it.

Yesterday I went up into the loft and got the Christmas decos ready for the holiday onslaught and stupidly left one carrier with some bits that I needed today on the side. No sooner had he had breakfast than he made a direct flight to aforementioned plastic and took up residence.

If I approach his beak is open his wings lifted and he's giving me the evil eye as if I am the worst person on the planet.

It comes to something when my position in life sinks several degrees below a rotten plastic carrier bag. He might as well just go ahead and call me an old bag. THat's one word I definitely won't be teaching him!!!

technically the parrot rule list is: he has it it's his.....

BUT if you can coax him out with a strawberry or orange juice...there are legal loopholes....

See picture below for parrot rules......

Here we go according to section 1: do you like it? Might be grounds for mistrial if you don't

Section 2: well ownership is 99% of the law he has a strong case on that one.

Section 3: if he's not chewing it you have reason for an ex parte.

Section 4: this comes down to the lawyers...you need a shark lawyer for this one....

Section 5: You might get totally hosed by this caveate... consult shark lawyer...

Section 6: Don't worry about this one it's a straw man argument set up by the parrot mafia...

Section 7: you didn't say he's chewing it, rule doesn't apply...

Section 8: Does the bag have the birds name on it? is it the same color as the bird.....could be grounds for mistrial....

Section 9: You CLEARLY saw it first in the attic. So this has no bearing whatsoever.

Section 10: You might loose the case on this one....you did set it down......

You have some things working for you and some against...it might end up in the supreme bird court and those are all bald eagles and don't really take the human side so...... I'd work it with arbitration and offers of treats.

The standoff continued pretty much all day. He has the evil eye down a treat now. Talking of treats - I did manage to entice him away but he no sooner finished it than he flew around until he found it again and took me and the bag hostage.

I am waiting until he is safely in bed before taking back my possessions. Tomorrow we head to the lawyer's office! Divorce? Maybe!

Perhaps bribery by offering a substitution bag all his own? This may dispel any further illegal boundaries of possession being crossed. Complete with toys.
