Some Roux for the holidays

Been awhile since I've on. Roux has now become fully flighted. I've decided to bird proof my condo and let her learn to fly. She's gotten really good to the point she can practically hover to decide where she's going. Unfortunately she's become very comfortable and is starting to fly on things she wouldn't before such at the curtain rod.

I had two close calls. She once flew out the door but landed on my shoulder. Another time I walked out but realizing she was already on my shoulder. I used to take her outside when she was clipped so she was used to the outside.

I did install a bamboo beaded curtain over the door to prevent her from flying out



She's also gotten to love getting into my hand with my fingers wrapped around her

Beautiful baby!!! I like the bamboo idea!!!!! Smart! Work on flight recall, this is something I need to do as well!!!!

Yeah I purchased a necklace with a whistle on it to train her to fly to me when I blow the whistle

Roux just gets more beautiful all the time! That last picture is pure bliss
I love your Bamboo curtain idea, it's really pretty as well as being effective.

Yeah thanks!! I was looking at pics of her when I first got her. She was practically all green. She's getting very much more yellow and orange.

I figured if anything the bamboo would scare her away from the door. And definitely prevent those close calls when someone leaves the door open

For me would help remind me when I have a birdie on my shoulder too! I need to do this!!
