I struggle with the difference between pineapple and cinnamon colour mutations - I think Stanley is a pineapple but am not certain. Hoping that someone with more expertise can help me confirm? Below are some feather pics of side-by-side with Tango who is a normal green cheek :).

Also, I’m very curious if female conures are typically large than males? Tango (dna’d Female) is around 88 grams and Stanley (dna’d male) is around 78 grams. Both went to the avian vet about a month ago for their annual check up and she confirmed that neither feels overweight by their body condition. Tango has always been flighted and flies a lot, Stanley is growing his flights back and I’m not sure if he ever fledged (been with me only 6 months) - so may be a difference in the amount of muscle between them?

Any thoughts appreciated!

Well I don’t about the weight differences (my male GCC only weighs about 65-67 grams usually), but your Stanley is 100% a pineapple GCC, nearly identical to my Leo.
The photo’s bit blurry, but hopefully you can see the similarities. :)

I think Stanley is a pineapple GCC because of the yellow on his sides. A pineapple is simply a combination of the cinnamon and yellow-sided mutations. Check under Stanley’s wing - if it’s yellow, he’s a pineapple. If it’s light green, then he’s a cinnamon. From the pic he looks like a pineapple.

88 grams seems pretty large for a GCC. That’s the same weight as my tiel! Kermit is fully flighted and the vet says he’s got great muscle mass, but he only weighs 68-69 grams. He hasn’t been DNA sexed but I’ve always called him a male. Kermit doesn’t seem like a small GCC compared to the ones I’ve seen. Maybe Tango is just unusually large for the species.

Stanley is definitely yellow under the wings - so he is a pineapple!

Tango has always been this weight (88g) since I got her in 2016 (she was 1-2 years old when I got her). She’s been to the vet regularly and I actually asked about her weight since she’s heavier than what I’ve read is the average GCC - they always check her out, feel her keel and say that she doesn’t feel overweight. Tango is almost an inch taller than Stanley (pineapple), which is why I asked if females are bigger than males - I never had another GCC to compare her to until Stanley moved in. She flies like a green demon and never gets winded, plays a lot, eats a good diet and the vet says she’s quite healthy - so I guess she may just be big for her species :).

She is big!!! Stanley isn't small either!! My female Ta-dah is 70-74 grams, when sick she was 68 grams.

Yoda is tiny I guess... fitting, considering the name. :) He's 70 grams (give or take a gram each morning).
Judge me by my size, do you?

I don’t think Yoda is small for a GCC. He is average - the weight range is 60-80 grams according to google.

Beautiful! I'm mesmerized by these GCC mutations. What a rainbow they make. Thanks for sharing, everybody.

Senegal Parrot named "Kane"; Yellow-Sided Green Cheek Conure named "Bowie"; Blue Quaker Parrot named "Lita Ford"; Cockatiel named "Duff"; 8 American/English Budgie Hybrids; Ringneck Dove named "Dylan"
Bowie usually hovers around 78g, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less, and he's a DNA'd male; however my first Green Cheek, Izzy (passed away as the result of an accident) was DNA'd female and she weighed only 64g, and both had CAV wellness-exams and both eat/ate the same diet of healthy pellets as a staple along with a very small portion of healthy seed-mix and then fresh veggies/greens each day, along with occasional treats and fresh fruit.

And judging from the dozens and dozens of Green Cheeks I've seen come through the Rescue over the years, they do tend to vary greatly in weight and overall-size, with anything between 60g and 90g being pretty normal...I haven't noticed a definitive difference between the males and females in weight at all (unless the females are carrying an egg or have follicles of course), I have noticed a definite difference in weight between the different mutations!!! There is no doubt at all that the Normal usually tend to be the largest/heaviest by-far, with the Turquoise and the Yellow-Sided next...And both the Pineapples and the Cinnamon being by-far the smallest...And then of-course you get all the variations with hybrids...But I've seen some Normal and Turquoise Green Cheeks that were larger than a Cockatiel for sure.

Thanks so much Ellen! That explains the height and weight difference between Tango and Stanley :). The rescue that I volunteer at very seldom gets smaller birds (we see mostly cockatoos), so I haven’t seen many green cheeks to compare.
