Hey guys.. Got this little one in at my work today. I ordered a yellow sided but the shoulders are making me think that its not quite that.. Is it possible to have a yellow sided X Fiery shouldered hybrid? Or is it just an unusually marked YSGCC?

Opinions are much appreciated 😊 :rainbow1: :)

My opinion you won the lottery! That's one gorgeous birdie!!!!!
Maybe a high red yellow sided conure, IDK if that's the real name...

I've no clue what it is called, but that's a really beautiful bird!

I think they are a type of yellow sided. This mutation has different "versons" which have less or more red color. Like I've written - yellow sided is a mutation so YSGCC x fiery shouldered conure (I"ll name FSC) hybrid doesn't have to be yellow sided. It would have to be YSGCC mum and FSC dad. Their boys would be a "normal" hybrid and girls YS (and still GCC x FSC hybrid). I write that because if your bird is a boy it is impossible to have a YS hybrid. But I am pretty sure it is some verson of YSGCC

I'm always looking for nice places on the Internet to visit.

Google searches didn't help, so what is the "KoP"?

What a stunner! If I were going to get a conure, I'd want one of these ... :)

The cheeks look mauve. So pretty!!

Haha! Amy and I know each other from Instagram, where our parrotlets both have accounts. They and a load of other parrotlets are living “the secret life of pets” and, among other things, are all Knights of Parrelot (like Camelot only ruled by parrotlets). So the Knights of Parrelot (or KoP) moms have been chatting behind the scenes recently and geez what an amazing, caring, lovely bunch of women we turn out to be.

If you want to witness the silliness in action, you can hop on Instagram and follow @bumbletheparrotlet (my bird) and @hiroandfriends (Amy’s birds) and you’ll soon see mentions of the others.

I have a 9 month old, named Keiko, with very similar coloring. I was told she was a High Red Yellow Green Cheek. I couldn't find any good recent pictures of her that showed off the shoulder coloring very well. You need to catch them while they are in that alert stretched out posture, with their shoulder sort of away from their chest like in your photo. You can see the coloring best on her baby photo. The second photo kind of gives you a little of the coloring on her shoulder, but unfortunately it is mostly hidden by her ruffled chest feathers.

Anyway, they are a beautiful mutation!

It's not a "High-Red" Yellow-Sided, they have a blending of different reds all over their bellies/chests...That is just a very pretty Yellow Sided Green Cheek, that's it...No special mutation or color...

They all have that bright red on their shoulders (all the Yellow-Sided ones), it's just that some are much more apparent than other, some are actually hidden under their wings, some are larger patches...But it's not a different mutation at all...If you Google "High-Red Yellow Sided Conure", you should get photos of birds that look like this bird but with an OVERALL-RED COLOR all over them, mainly on their entire abdomen/belly/chest. This guy is a gorgeous little Yellow-Sided though...

Here's a "High-Red" Yellow Sided Green Cheek Conure, just for reference, so you can see that he's not one...

You've got a gorgeous little Yellow-Sided though, his colors are very bright...I'm sure he'll be even more gorgeous once he goes through his first big molt and gets the rest of his markings...
