I thought this deserved it's own thread.
Baby is already accustomed to eating when his person eats. He regularly ate with his person.

He thinks anything that goes in my mouth is food for him too. I can no longer eat chocolate if he is out.

Even though I can't touch him yet he sure flew over and tried to steal a bite.

So can he eat any of the following?
Ham
Tuna
Mayo
Butter
Bacon
Venison
Meat in General
Ranch dressing
Cool whip
Sugar free Jello
Even if not recommend and only in tiny ammounts.

An Amazon Parrot and many Lovebirds.
Mayo No
Butter No
Ranch dressing No
Cool whip No
Sugar free Jello No

As far as any animal meats I would stay away from it because cooked meat does have spices/salt and birds should not be consuming them.

Can he? Yes! Should he? No! Same for us hoomans! Bits and bytes, sure!

I'd only let him have little bits. He was allowed a chip today. He mostly just ripped it to pieces.

I know he shouldn't eat chips but I also know a bite or two won't kill him.

sugar free jello is ok, it's just gelatin. Clark has had some of mine.

The general rule of thumb for conures is if it's "GOOD" for you then it's "ok" for them to sample a little of it. But stay away from soft cheeses, onions, mayo, caffine, alcohol, chocolate, and anything sugary except natural fruits. Some people say dairy like milk and cheese but my conures have no problem with it.

Sorry I'm late to the party. Just wanted to respond to this question.

Ham, mayo, butter, bacon, venison, ranch dressing, cool whip and meat in general (except for chicken) are all things I'd say you should never give to a parrot. None of those has the risk of being instantly toxic like chocolate or certain parts of an avocado, but they are definitely bad for avian health.

The occasional bit of unseasoned chicken or fish is fine, though.

I could have written that.

If we give our birds any human food it should be the most-healthy, not the least-healthy human food.

Salad dressing?
Really?
