Green cheek conure - Sydney (Syd) Hatched 2/2017
Up bright and early both Syd and myself feeling bushy tailed I decided to get some laundry on the go since the sun was out.

With Syd being a passenger on my shoulder I collected the dirty laundry and as he watched intently, put it in the washer. I got the powder from the cupboard and filled the little plastic jug I use to measure it out and as I put it in the right place in the machine Syd suddenly became an Olympic Gold Medalist. He ran down my arm and sank his beak into my thumb (drawing blood) that was holding the little jug. Instinctively I jumped and shook him not realising that the little jug wasn't empty.

Have you got the picture? Washing powder cascaded all over the place! What a mess. It was everywhere. Out came the vacuum and some time later we were back to normal and then switched the washer on.

Was that a slight look of glee that I spotted on Syd's face? One of his favourite words is 'Sorry'. Strange how I haven't heard it this morning! the little toe-rag!

No that wasn’t a “slight” look of glee, it was a manic grin of triumph! Sorry? Not sorry! The little toad:)

When my JoJo does that, I look at him and ask, ’Why did you bite me like that?’ He gives me that sweet look, ‘I am so sorry! How was I supposed to bite you?’

On a good note, no one got powder in their eyes!

I really think that it was a fearful bite, you had all that weird laundry stuff.

I've come to the conclusion that with Green Cheeks it's completely futile to ask "Why did you bite me?" or "What was that for?"...Not only will you never get an answer, but you'll never be able to figure it out. Not if you spent the rest of your life trying to figure it out will it ever make any sense to you....However, it always makes perfect sense to them!

Whenever Bowie decides it's time I got a good beaking and I ask him "Why did you do that?", he gives me the typical Green Cheek "You don't know why I did that? Really?" look...Then he'll go back to snuggling under my chin or behind my ear for hours, telling me "Love You" and "My Baby" and "Give me Kisses" followed by his little kissing sounds...And I'll be relaxed, watching movies while he's snuggling against me and whispering to me while I give him scritches under his chin and around his neck, and everything is peaceful and wonderful, and I think about how much I just love my little baby boy...And then he'll crawl out from under my hair, run down my arm, and clamp-down on my thumb...
