Hello everyone. It is time for Muffin my Golden Conure to go for walks outside and bike rides. So, I would like to know what flight suit or harness is best for him and by your experience what one do you suggest. Muffin is six months old and he was clipped by the breeder so he isn't flight capable as yet but I plan to let his flight feathers grow in and I thought the time to train him for the flight harness would be now while he is not flight capable. I have free flight trained Macaws before but without harness. I also just got a Indian Ringneck and she is quite small, smaller than Muffin, so I would also like to know what sizes I get for them both. Thanks for any help in this matter that any of you have experienced.

Aviator harnesses are the gold standard.

Golden conures are just south of medium sized parrots. I’d say a small for them - mediums are used for amazons, eclectus, greys, etc.

Believe it or not for your IRN your looking at a small as well.

Here’s a good reference for you.

Sunny the Sun Conure (sept '18, gotcha 3/'19). Mr Jefferson Budgie & Mrs Calliope Budgie (albino) (nov'18 & jan'19). Summer 2021 Baby Budgies: Riker (Green); Patchouli, Keye, & Tiny (blue greywings).
I am wondering about this for my Sunny. (She doesn't fly yet, so this should be a good time to start to get accustomed.) I see the Aviator harnesses, but I also see flightsuits online. I'd prefer to get her used to a flightsuit, as the harness looks-- to my eyes --to have more potential to injure a bird. Does anyone have any opinions, suit vs harness?

I’ll be honest, I’m having a mental block at the moment about The reasons why, But the harness is absolutely superior to the flight suit.

Hi Jen

Sun Conures would be a small, and the size of the head loop is what changes from size to size . The other straps are adjustable. If you can float the money, iould uggest also getting one in the next larger size, so that it is easier to do the inital lessons. You can always sell the larger one here !
