Pico - 5 month old green cheek
Hi all!

Pico is a 5-month old green cheek. I’m worried about some of his feathers but unsure if this is normal since he’s still young and transitioned to our house in early February. His behavior doesn’t seem to indicate any problem but I’m still concerned. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Picture attached below.

He's pretty young. Most baby birds that I've seen seem to have some pretty rough plummage. Kermit's came like that, and I got her at only 10 weeks old. While ensuring he's getting the best nutrition while in your care is important, I don't think it's that uncommon with babies... growing up from a jellybean sized organism and growing in all your feathers for the first time is pretty stressful on their bodies. Wait until he's around a year and he has his first molt. Once he has his grownup feathers on, you'll probably see them looking a lot healthier.

That makes sense! I figured I was being paranoid but I wanted to double check. Thank you for your reply :)
