Wait, your sunnie sets up appointments for admiration? Wow, I can't even get Skittles to commit to any sort of schedule whatsoever for that. He's like "I'll have what I went, when I want it and how I want it". He will however allow me to give him what he wants as long as I give him it when he wants it.

I think it sounded less like an appointment and more like “You will do this 24/7, hooman.”

Yes, that's correct. Her Sunniness issues and revises her schedule frequently, requiring 100% adoration at all times or more. No exceptions are to be made. Not even whilst preparing her food or green beans, nor whilst tending to her cage nor to one's own personal needs. And taking care of the budgies is NOT to be tolerated.

Absolute, full and incessant admiration is required not only from her usual hooman servant (aka yours truly), but indeed from ALL hoomans. Any hooman within Her Sunniness' visual field who fails to quickly acknowledge and admire her will be subject to punitive and repetitive shrieking, until their intolerable oversight is rectified.

Sun Conure’s are one of my favourite types of bird, they’re feathers are just so nice and exotic

SUNNY says: "Thank you for noticing my feathers. I authorize you to admire me also!"

SUNNY SAYS
Guest Starring: THE BUDGIES (Jefferson and Calliope)

Budgies: We are Sad because you haven’t played your fiddle for us in a long time.

Me: Let me get my fiddle and play for you right now!
Me: But, I’m a little out of practice. Give me a few moments to warm up.

Budgies: That’s okay. We will stand behind our hanging lettuces until you sound good.

Sunny: “WHAT!! WHAT are you Doing?”

Me: Oh, Your Sunnyness, I am going to play my fiddle now.

Sunny: “That is MY SHOULDER! You May NOT Perch Another Bird there!
--Jumps down to the floor so I will offer her to step up

Me: Oh, Your Sunnyness, do you want to go to your cage now?

Sunny: “NO! NO!

Me: Okay, well, Your Sunnyness, do you want want to stand on my shoulder now?

Sunny: “NO! I am going to stand HERE gripping your finger!

Me: Okay… we can do this…
--Playing fiddle tunes slowly due to sun conure perched on fingers of bowing hand—

Sunny: “WHAT! NO! Stop scritching this Other Bird’s waist!
--Clambers to middle of bow--

Me: Wonderful, I was hoping to interest you in playing fiddle with me. Middle of bow is a much better spot for you to stand.
--Playing fiddle tunes a little more quickly, extra weight on the bow makes the sound louder—

Sunny: “Stop! Stop! What are you doing!??! Do NOT touch this interloper-bird’s neck!
--Jumps down in a huff and climbs ladder to own cage. Sulks.--

Me: Alright. Definitely easier to play with No conure on the bow.
--Playing tunes “Calliope House,” “Jefferson Road,” and “Mason’s Apron” for my birdies…

Budgies: We are glad you are playing for us. We will stand at the front of our cage and watch & listen happily until you’re done.

Oh yes, they are so bossy! BUT they are also so cuddly and cute! I DO let Skittles "express" himself and I do attend to a lot of his demands, BUT, they are ones that are reasonable (to me) and its actually a very good system we have. If one of his needs are not being met, he lets me know it and as soon as I tend to it, he's back to normal. I look at it this way- THAT is there way of communicating. When a child cries cause they are hurt, you comfort them or care for their wound. But when a child cries in a tantrum from not getting what they want (and cant have) then thats when discipline comes in. Skittles knows which 'calls' will get him what he wants and which 'calls' will get him a timeout. I have to manage this carefully so he doesn't try to use the 'allowed calls' to try and outsmart me into giving him something he can't have through one of those calls. He and I actually have an amazing communication system. We got it down to a science and it cracks me up how effective it is. BUT the ONLY reason it works as well as it does is because I NEVER give in to what he cant have or cant do and he WILL try to nonetheless. Skittles is incredible affectionate with me, but he can also be manipulative and he WILL try and do things he cant and he KNOWS he cant but still tries to get away with it. I don't let him. If I did even once, he'd know it. It is NOT easy to do. But I know that if he gets out of control like he did when I was spoiling him, I could get into trouble with neighbors, so I have incentive to be a tough but fair daddy.
