Sunny the Sun Conure (sept '18, gotcha 3/'19). Mr Jefferson Budgie & Mrs Calliope Budgie (albino) (nov'18 & jan'19). Summer 2021 Baby Budgies: Riker (Green); Patchouli, Keye, & Tiny (blue greywings).
So sometimes I can figure out that Sunny my Sun Conure is requesting a Spray-Shower. Sometimes I THink she wants showers and she definitely does Not.

For health, how often does she need a shower, minimum? 1x weekly? 1x DAily?? 2x weekly?

The simple answer is: as often as your Parrot requests or allows. The goal is not to force the issue, but have them wanting.

Now, based on skincare and keeping the dust to an acceptable level that depends much on the time of year (humidity level). In your neck of the woods, Winter can be very dry and skin problems develop when they go too long between showers. In the Winter with the low Humidity, a week at most.

In the Summer, letting the time between showers get out to a couple of weeks is okay, but they are getting really dusty at that point.

Far too many people believe that an extensive shower is required every time. In most cases, your Parrot maybe happy with a misting, softly falling from above in place of a blasting of the shower head.

Oh, that makes me feel better. Like I said, sometimes Im understanding her shower requests clearly, but other times not. I call it a "spray shower" because I use a fine-mist sprayer bottle, and yes, usually from above. Although, at least now, IF she wants the shower, she usually seems to want to get thoroughly drenched. I often use a full spray bottle & also partial refill before she's done.

I was concerned only because browsing the forum I've seen mention that Not getting showers can be a problem but was unsure of timing. I think we've probably done one to three spray-showers most weeks this summer-- (although quite variable; there was even one day that she quite clearly demanded & enjoyed a full, slow-drenching shower three Times in One day!)--so I guess we've been doing okay.

Thank you again, very much, for the guideline!

Pico, gender unknown, is a hand-fed Yellow Sided Green Cheek Conure, born 2015.
Whenever Pico feels like turning his water-drinking dish into a bathtub ... which is around every week or so.

I'm no expert but I give my macaw a shower around every 4 days or when he gets sticky with something, I prefer to give him showers on sunny days. He doesn't care much for showers most of the time but is always willing to take one as he says "shower" whenever I mention it and steps right up when I offer. I think he still enjoys it but just doesn't open up his wings like a normal showering bird does. He only likes the spray bottle on mist setting, the actual shower scares him.
