I have two Green Cheeked Conures named Kesha and Koko
Hi all, any suggestions on weaning gcc's from seeds to pellets? They've been getting a balanced diet, but I was wondering if I should eliminate seeds altogether?

Seed is much better than pellet! IMHO! A quality seed, sprouted even better! My guy gets four different pellets and about 6 or 7 different seed mixes!

There should be a balance between seeds and pellets, around 3 pinches of pellets per handful of seed
Thanks

What I do........

In the cage pellets only.

In the man cave.....I mix about 1/3 seeds and 2/3rds pellets.

that way they have the superior pellet food, with the snacks of seeds.

Mine also get pellets in their cages (and fresh veggies/fruit 2x per day). They have seed mixes on their play stands so while they are out gallivanting they can eat seeds and other fun stuff. Personally I think it’s not bad for them to have some seed, and I prefer to try to hit a balance.
