What's the youngest age that sun conures can start breeding?

Two sun conures Skittles and Buddy.
Now that I know my two suns are male and female I want to be prepared. I'm hoping it will be at lest a year until they can breed.

Hi there, obviously you have had them dna. Just curious, have you been a guardian previously, and had experience breeding birds? It is a tremendous responsibility, having little chicks, their lives depending on you.

If you take a look at the many bird rescues and see the numbers of conures that need homes you might want to help them get placed with a caring guardian.

11 month old Senegal Parrot - 3 year old SI Eclectus
I can see why there are so many Conures available. They advertise Senegals as perfect apartment birds. But let me tell you, my 11 month old Senegal Tiki can throw a hissy fit especially in the mornings when my wife is trying to sleep late. He sing, talk, whistle & worst of all squawk if he isn't getting the attention he's looking for.

If I were in an apartment, I think I might have issues as well. But thankfully I'm not.

2 Budgies, 3 Cockatiels, 6 GCC'S, 2 Crimson Bellie Conures, 9 Sun Conures, 2 Major Mitchells, 12 Eclectus parrots of various ages, 2 BF Amazons, 2 Hahn's Macaw's, 1 Red Tail Black Too
Sun Conures can start to breed from around 14 months to 3 years.
There is no reason why you can't breed & have a great relationship with your pair.
If you make sure they have the required diet & so on. Have a nest box set up in their cage.

That said if you are going to enbark on breeding buy the neccessary books on breeding, hand-rearing & be well prepared. Don't go into it blind & do it properly.

Thanks everyone. I've read into breeding for over a year now(before I even had my two). They are on pellets seeds fruits veggies and treats like millet. At this time I'm not ready to breed them, but I've talked to people who've said they were able to breed their sun conures around 1 1/2. And I'm absolutly possitive that Skittles will always love me as long I spend the proper time with her. I've also talked to breeders saying that their fids stay friendly as long as they're not on eggs.
They already live together and are with each other 24/7 and skittles still chooses me over buddy, so I'm not too worried about that. I mainly worry about egg binding. Not so much about handraising them unless I have to. Even then I have a breeders email and phone number who breeds suns that I can contact if need be.
