Hello,

My conure is cuddly. Yes he is, trust me and I won't elaborate on that.

However after show when still wet, he always wants to be alone and won't step up or interact. He becomes cuddly again when he is complete dry..

Just wondering if this is a common thing or do I need to have it checked out at the vet.

Thanks!

One Pineapple Conure.
Hatched late 2018.
After mine has a splash, she likes to hold on to the side of the cage and flap and spread her wings,so we leave her to do just that as its part of her drying off ritual.

When really wet, most Parrots have limited flight abilities and some will tend to not interact until they are able to fly. Yet others will use you as a towel.

Welcome to the odd World of Parrots.

Ember will sit on my shoulder after a shower but doesn't like to be scratched or touched for a while until he's dry. It's likely a preference for them to want to dry off and be left alone until they are 'back to normal' when feathers are dry.

Funny! My JoJo is the opposite! When dry, it is, "Hey dude! We are buds, but back off now!" When wet? I can even place him in my shirt without bleeding!
He does grant beak rub privileges at all times, in 20 second intervals only!

Umbrella Cockatoo- 15? years old..I think?
probably instinctual--- if he can't fly due to being wet then he is pretty vulnerable during that time.
