Possessive Behavior

After 4 yrs my GCC is starting to get possessive about her water bowl. Normally I change out her water twice a day. Usually am and pm. Lately she has started to get grabby by holding onto the rim of the bowl and the ring that holds the bowl in place. This interferes with the opening and closing of the access door. She's starting to get her head and body in the way even when I return with a fresh bowl of water.

Answers and suggestions please!

Will she let you switch out the water bowl from within the cage?

If she steps-up, try stepping her up and then take the water bowl and switch out the water while she is watch or being part of the project. Commonly, the more involved they are the longer it will take, but things tend to go easier.

How often is she out everyday? If she has any "snuggle huts", tents or shadowy spaces in the cage, remove them.
