I'm so proud - today Doobie took his first real bath! :35: Hahahaha.
I always bring him with me to the kitchen in the morning. Today I was cleaning and refilling his water dish and he jumped on my finger and immediately started to try and take a bath in the water dish so I set it down on the counter. Doobie continued to attempt full submersion! I quickly got a shallow dish and set it down and transferred Doobie to it. Oh boy! It was flutter-city! He had the BEST time but not as much as I enjoyed watching. :) Sometimes I wish I was quicker with a camera.
I understand offering a bath about once a week is good? Also, I didn't use any particular temperature water. :gcc:

Birdie bathing is the cutest thing! Pearl seems to set a goal to see how much she can splash me! Temperature of water I think (I'm no expert) isn't too big of a deal, just make sure it's not scalding hot or freezing cold, and that your bird isn't too cold afterwards. I do recommend shallow dishes to bathe in, from my experience Pearl might completely submerge her face if the water is too deep.
I've seen that birds also might like to bathe under gently running water, like from a sink. Some birdies even like to shower with their owners! (Albeit with gentle water pressure)
Once a week is fine if that's what works with your little Doobie!

In the past I have taken my conures and my cockatiels in the shower with me and set them on top of the shower door where they could enjoy the mist of the shower. Both of my birds long ago loved it. I tried that with Doobie and he was a little perplexed and wasn't quite sure about it. I think it was a new experience for him and that he will get used to it in time. It is so much easier than a flutter bath and less messy afterwards, although I don't mind. When you love something, there's nothing you wouldn't do to make it happy! I'm going to try the shower thing again.

My Conure loves to bathe in her water bowl. The surest way to predict when it will happen is to change the paper under the cage grate and to clean the cage. I could make some serious money betting against someone who says it won't happen. But, she loves it and makes a big mess. :)

Good for you Doobie! My tiel is "allergic" to water ( so he thinks )
Only once when he was a youngster did he actually do a face-plant in the kitchen sink and acted like he was having a seizure flapping and wiggling all about lol then decided he hated it. now he showers with me. I do my thing while he sits on the curtain rod waiting his turn. I just get him on my finger and move him in and out of the shower stream. He allows me to open his arms (wings) and wash his pits, spread his rudder (tail) and enjoys it..after all he is super bonded to his daddy ;)

As far as water temp goes..I make it so it is "cool" to my touch.
