Hello everyone,
I have a 3-4m (not sure exactly) months old GCC who is with me for a month and a week.
I work for home so i combine out of cage and inside cage time ... he usually spends around 2-5 hours a day out of his cage.
When he is in is cage he has a lot of toys, fresh pellets and water anytime, he used to bit when its time to go inside cage but it started to be a bit better lately (i give him treats when i put him inside cage)
Usually at around 5:00PM my girlfriend (she is not used to parrots at the moment so he has to be in his cage) is coming home and i have to put him in the cage until the next day and at around 10:00-11:00PM i cover his cage, his cage is at our living room where we spend most of time.
The problem is that he usually have a long session of screaming in between 8-11PM before we go to bed, i was told that i need to ignore that behavior so he won't start using it as a. way to get my attention.
I really love him but it makes it really hard for my family to live with those screams.
What do i need to do in order to improve those screams?
it is important to say that he usually doesn't scream at all at daytime.. he could have short session of screams when sun goes down and i heard that its a normal parrot behavior... im fine with that. but the screams at night are really hard.
appreciate your help on this one
