Not me, but for my friend. My friend has a pineapple coloured green cheek named Zazu who is incredibly friendly. He’s a bit nippy near strangers, but loves scratches. My friend has been wanting to get another bird, and has recently been given the opportunity to get an adorable green kakariki named Dewdrop. Zazu is the only pet in the house and hasn’t had to share my friend with any other animals. Will Zazu allow Dewdrop into the house eventually (not right away probably) or is it to dangerous to have kakariki and gcc in the same house.

As long as they have two separate cages, the birds should be able to live under the same roof. 2 cages is a must -- putting the smaller bird in with the conure could end up in Dewdrop's death! There's no telling if the green cheek will be friendly towards other birds, but as we are the humans and they are the birds, they really don't have a say in the matter!

There are many members here who have birds that don't like each other. Some make it work by taking one bird out at a time. That's really only if they don't like each other -- as there are no guarantees 2 birds will get along, it's always safe to have separate areas / cages for them to be in in case a fight does break out.

Introduce them in side by side cages first, then after a couple weeks introduce them in a neutral territory (so the conure doesn't feel threatened by the newcomer and feel the need to defend their cage, toys, food, the owner) and keep an eye on them at ALL times if they are out of the cage. ALWAYS supervise them out of the cage, NEVER walk away with 2 new birds out together.
