It's a girl! New 4 month green cheek! Any advice will help

I found out my little 4 month old green cheek is a girl! I am so happy but also worried about the whole egg laying thing.
Currently she has two cages. One for day time ( shes usually out of her cage tho) and her sleep cage which has a little hut for her to sleep in.
I want to know what I can do to deter the whole egg laying thing.
I heard not to pet on her back or under her wings, is this something I should not do right now? Or when she gets hormonal?
I'm really nervous guys! Any advice will help!

Also anyone ever had a female green cheek and never had a egg laid? Just wondering if all female lay eggs without a mate.

I would remove the hut from the cage. That will lead to egg laying.

I have never had a female conure, but I have had 7 female budgies, a female lovebird, and a female cockatiel. Only one of them (a budgie) ever laid eggs, and even then it was just one egg.
As ling as you don't provide any nesting conditions (small dark places, etc.) it should discourage egg laying. Not a 100% guarantee, my budgie did lay an egg without any proper egg laying conditions, but it will lower the chance of her laying any.

Welcome and be welcomed. Relax. At 4 months you are a long way off from hormonal and egg laying ( if at all). Don't be a nervous new parront, your parrot will pick up on that - they are highly atuned to our feelings and attitudes.

I use a sleeping hut for my GCC female Ta-dah she has never laid an egg, or had hormonal issues and she is 7 years old. My previous GCC female had a hut ( not fuzzy) and lived 18 years she only laid eggs once at ten years old when i first brought Ta-dah home.

Fuzzy huts and loose threads are a danger,

I'm one of the few here who use or admit to using sleeping huts. My quakers all have I one as well .

Omg good to hear!! Did you do any precaution measures? Like the whole petting thing on the back was avoided? Lol I honestly cant stop petting and loving this little cutie

babies tolerate more. I only pet scratch head snd bsck of neck, rub beak and under chin. Sometimes she lays on her side cupped in my hand.

My female quaker trys to get me to pet her hed to tail then she gets all sexy , which isn't good , so I have to be careful with her.

Do not use soft fuzzy huts all thst fuzz gets ingested, and can kill them by blocking crop over time. Always check for loose threads. I don't use any of those soft white rope toys for the same reason.
