Conure bites a little to much

My 7 month old conure that I've had for a month like to bite alot. Nipping and some hard biting. He's very cuddly when I put my hand out. He likes to push against my hand and nips very lightly while chirping. But then he'll get on my finger and start to bite. I try not to react as I read and turn my finger to put him of balance to stop the biting. If I hand him some food he'll attack the food and bite my finger basically out of control.

Is the biting to be mean or like a puppy just using their mouth to show affection or play?

What are some good methods to get him to stop biting? He does enjoy being held, buts like to bit e too.

your conure is bonded enough, do the time out method.

When the bird bites stand up walk away and put the bird on the floor, or so other non good space. Not a cage or playstand.

you are saying "you are shunned for biting" the bird has to think about it then walk back thinking about it.

It's super effective, might take a week but in the end the bird learns not to bite.

Thank you for replying. 1 question, do I say anything, or just put him on the floor and walk away? Do I leave him there and let him make it back to the cage? Or go back and get him after some time?

Put him down and walk away. He’ll come back to you.

And if you want him to learn to say something right before he misbehaved, say that [emoji23] I can’t tell you how many stories I’ve read where a bird says “No bite!” or “Be good” or “Bad boy!” right before a chomp!

So I've been having an issue with putting him on the floor. As soon as I go to pout him down he flies off to the cage. Everytime. haha Also, sometimes when he's on the top of the cage hanging out and I go to get him to get on my finger he bites. How do I deal with that. Do I just walk away? Or is that telling him he won and I lost?

My young bird does the same thing he never breaks skin but sometimes he bites hard enough to hurt pretty good. He also LOVES to rough house. We started telling him "too hard". So when he takes it too far we say it and walk away and ignore him for a bit. A month later we can say it and he instantly softens his grip. It takes some time.
