My almost 3 month GCC loves biting my lips I try not to let him do it too much (it doesn't hurt, I'm just worried about the germs I'm giving to him and vise versa). He does it when we cuddle, he's all happy and tries to nibble my lips is this normal? Is this a sign he's bonding with me? We got him 3 weeks ago. He gently nibbles on things when he's exploring is he exploring me? He also gives me little licks sometimes, and falls asleep on me. Is this a good sign? Thank you :)

Hi ! You are correct - the human mouth has bacteria that a birds system has no protection for, so any action that introduces your saliva into his beak needs to stop and be avoided. You should discourage it also because as he matures he may think that this nipping of lips is OK. Conures have a rep as being beaky and nippy, especially when puberty hits later on, so yeah start to train him on No Bite now.

Licks and falling asleep on you are good signs. Just be careful when he is sleeping on you, that you dont accidentally crush or hurt him.
