4 Sun Conures
Hi! I just wanna ask, will I be able to identify my 4 sun conures when they get older with their yellow feathers even if I don’t put leg bands on them? I’ve read on some of the topics here about leg bands that it’s kinda unsafe to have them on. Right now, with their green feathers and few yellow feathers popping out, it’s no problem to know who’s who. But I’m kinda worried when they get all their yellow feathers that I might not be able to identify them.

Hi there! SO split legbands, put on when parrots get older, like your 4, have been problematic, as things can get wedged into the split. My own Amazon had that happen and I had the band removed ( and saved!). Continuous bands, put on when the parrot is a chick, and not usually a problem unless the bird start to get in the habit of picking at it. Visually your just going to have to learn to recognize each bird, once they get their adult plumage. You could of course have different color bands put on them ( I think - would need to be aluminum anodized with different colors, but not sure these are offered like that).

A crossover Quaker Scuti (F), A Sun conure named AC, A Cinnamon Green Cheek conure Kent, and 6 budgies, Scuti Jr. (f), yellow (m), clark Jr. (m), Dot (f), Zebra(f), Machine (m).
You will always! be able to tell them apart.

Every bird has their own personality, calls etc. even if they were identical clones.

I wouldn't sweat it a bit.

I have 2 suns, female, neither banded - I think you’ll be fine. I can tell mine apart, they do have slightly different coloration and very different personalities and behaviors!

You'll be able to tell. One will scream, one will scream louder, one will scream louder than that, and one will shatter wine glasses at 20 paces. LOL.
