Parrot Dropped Off At Idaho Falls Animal Shelter - Local News Story - KIFI Idaho Falls
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho -- The Idaho Falls Animal Shelter received a surprise in their drop box Friday morning. When the animal control officer opened it, she found a parrot and a note. Reporter Tammy Harmer got a chance to play with the bird and got a kiss or two. Animal control said they haven't had a parrot since at least 2006.
Supervisor Irene Brown said they have had cockatiels, doves and parakeets, but a parrot is unique. The note specified what kind of food he likes. He hates baths. He doesn't like men, but loves women.
"He has been a really fun addition to the shelter. This is the first bird I have come in contact with here. So I really like him," said Clarrisa Graham, Idaho Falls Animal Control.
The animal shelter workers named the bird Jim after a former animal control officer, who loves hash browns just as much as the bird.
