After looking through everyone's AWESOME playstand pix I decided to build my own. I wanted something simple, small, and portable so that Pickle can easily be transported room to room with the family. It is made of 3/4 in PVC and I added a little vet wrap for texture. I used a children's umbrella base for the base. I want to add a few toys now, but how should I attach them?

Will screws hold in the hollow pvc? I was thinking of using the eye screws (screws with full circle on the end) but will they hold?

How did you attach your toys to pvc? Do you have any pix of the hardware you used?

Not sure about how to attach toys but Pickle seems to like it :)

Very Nice! I've actually been thinking of making a stand of some sort, and was wondering the same thing about hooks.

Go to your nearest hardware store and pick up some eye bolts. Drill a hole through the perch where you want to mount the toys and stick the eye bolt through the hole and attach a nut on the end of the bolt.

You have done a great job! I agree with Mike. Get some eye bolts and some nuts to use to attach toys.

Thanks guys! Eye bolts were my idea, but I think the nuts are the key. I just hope I can get my fingers inside that 3/4in pipe....

Looks good to me.... Did you get that cage off of ebay? Looks like mine, but mine was cheaply made and we had to cut some stuff off to make is safe.

You can also get eye bolts with the screw threads on the end so no nuts are needed. Just make sure the tip doesn't go through to the other side of the pipe. Oh, and drill the hole a tad smaller than the eye bolt shaft.

I love the stand, I'm jealous! Wish I was handy at diy!

You can also make toys out off bird safe rope and just tied them on.

I was looking at the eye screws while I was making mine and all I could find was zinc plated ones...be careful what kind you get. I only realized they were zinc pklated because I thought to look. Hopefully you can find some SS but I couldn't. I ended up using zip ties to attach the toys
