I wouldn't risk it, either don't use the perch or you can just take the paint off and you wont have to worry.

Just use paint stripper to get the paint off right?

Sand paper, sand blaster ect. As long as you get the paint off without using chemicals it should be fine.

Re: Just obtained a perch but needing help

Here read this...Need bird safe paint for bird cage touch up, please suggest.

The main point is that the only way to be sure it is bird safe is to have it professionally powder coated.

Re: Just obtained a perch but needing help

I would just buy perches from a shop if I were you! They are not overly expensive to buy! apart from the Sandy Peches that I mentioned.. these are great and last for alot of Years, so worth the investment... I also have one of those Bendy rope perches in Codies Cage!

Re: Just obtained a perch but needing help

Did I read that right? A stainless steel perch? Why stainless steel?
That would be way to slick to grip. Just get perches at the store or use natural wood with a screw and washers.
