Easy to make hanging play/preening area.

I thought you guys might like to see this one. It was really easy to make.

You can tell how big it is in this pic. Basically it is one very large hoop and one smaller hoop, both hoops are 1/2 PVC and covered in fleece and 100% natural cotton fabric strips to make a great play area. I would bet if you have pluckers, they will love all the strips to preen too.

That's just kind of a cool pic of what it looks like from the bottom looking up.

All you need to make it is
1/2 inch PVC pipe. When I got mine it came in like a 25ft coil. You don't need anywhere near that much, I didn't measure mine but you can make it whatever size you want. (a hula hoop would work too)
assorted bird safe fabric, about 2 yards cut into strips (more or less depending on size of hoops and length of strips)
scissors
chain, plastic or SS
toys

All I did was make a large hoop out of the PVC and then folded the strips in half. Then I put the looped end of the strip around the pipe and pulled the ends through the loop. The second hoop is made the exact same way, just on a smaller scale.

To hang it I just used 3 6 ft lengths of plastic chain spaced out around the large hoop and secured at the top with a SS caribeaner.

This looks like a great toy! I have been looking for play areas that are "wobbly" so it can give my bird a little leg exercise. With all the fixed stands out there, it's hard to find a good "balancing" perch.

This is an old post but thank you for finding it!! I love it! I'm gonna get the stuff this week to make one. I believe my little guy will love it!!

Very nice! I think I'm also going to give it a try. Maybe do another one a little bigger for my macaws too.
