He is a little unsure of it yet since it is so much larger than him :)

AWESOME! I've made an identical one months ago, for my Mac, but my Amazons love it so much, so it's theirs now. :D

I wrapped mine with cotton rope to make is less slippery.

I was thinking of using vet wrap. But still unsure. We attached Sinna's strangled rope swing so there would be something familiar .. my dad had the great idea to add the wood dowel in the middle.

I think it would be great for a larger parrot .. but might be a little much for my jenday

Thanks :)

And we rent the house from my father and he was not to fond of the thought of holes in the ceiling. And the support poles have endless possibilities of adding pearches, eyelets for hanging toys. I'm going to try make a platform/perch with feeding dish on the top of the cage connected to the PVC poles as well.

Like the design & idea, but you might want to keep an eye out for any possibly interest in the ceiling. Because sheetrock/drywall is manufactured from calcium, some birds will chew holes in it for the calcium they may be lacking in their diet or just for something to do.

I will definitely give an explanation oh how to make it! I haven't had internet for a few weeks. To hard to write all up on my phone. Though I now have internet again and will post some instructions tonight or tomorrow :)

Spherical Swing | A Bird's Best Life

this is where i got the instructions to make the sphere. then we were worried about where sinna would sit, so we created a hole on the inside horizontal fittings and put a dowel across the center. then we were concerned that it being so much bigger than sinna our jenday, that he would be afraid and uninterested so we wanted to add something that sinna is familiar with. so we added his triangle swing to the top... i figured the sphere was to big for him to actually swing on it, so i could just put his favorite swing up there.. i did make the top 4 blue pipes longer than on the web site, mine are about 15 1/2 inches so it would have been large enough to put his swing up there. im still thinking about making the bottom 4 pipes shorter, to maybe 7 inches. so the bottom 4 way would be somewhat close to the dowel.

we decided to attach it above the cage because we do not have much floor space, i originally wanted to make a PVC bird tree type play stand. but that idea was shot down because i couldn't find a place to store it.. considering this conure's cage takes up 1/3 of the living room at 4 w x 6ft h x 3ft d .... and we were thinking about just hanging it to the ceiling, but i really didnt want to put that big of a hole in the ceiling. so we made a pvc holder for it ... 5 foot long PVC pipe, fastened to the cage with 2 U hooks on each side.

we added the ladder from the dowel to the top of the cage where sinna sits when his isnt on the couch or fish tanks. hoping it would encourage him to go check it our up there. he is not interested. our second hope was he would land on it flying back to his cage.. but no prevail, he seems uninterested and possibly intimidated.
