I am looking at putting together a DIY playstand usnig branches from a friend's apple orchard.

I know I need to be careful to not get pesticide treated branches.

Other than that, as I prpare the branches, do I de-bark them or leave the bark on?

I would guess stainless steel screws.

Include place for toys, food & water dishes.

Any other suggestions?

I debark them when the bark is easy to get off but if its not easy to get off it should be ok on just be sure to scrub it extra good! Just be creative make it how you would like it if you were a bird good luck and post pics!

I left the bark on mine. except one branch where the bark had some kind of fungus on the outside. I sprayed and scrubbed the brnaches with bleach, rised, dryed, repeated and few times. I used SS screws, and believe it or not, plastic zip strips.
