How to remove tree sap from branches?

The spruce branches I collected are quite 'sappy'. Any ideas on how to clean the sap of the branch...and my hands...argh, dangnabbit...also from my phone now!

I've heard of 2 methods:

1. Rub Vaseline on the sap, then wash thoroughly with soap and water.

2. Use rubbing alcohol (Isopropyl), it evaporates completely.

Mayo will cut it very well. And makes for a tasty tree branch sandwich!!

Oh gee, thanks Capsteve. All my life I felt the hankering for a tree branch sammich....

Getwozzy - I don't think my phone will enjoy the butter plan but I will do it for my hands.

Gotta buy some rubbing alcohol.

I'm glad your able to get it removed cause it sounded like one sticky mess....lol....the things we do for our babies.....lol

The isopropyl alcohol's also good for cleaning glass, if you have any left over

It was standard issue for many years in my work for cleaning instruments (weather stuff).
