How to attach food bowls

I created a very simple perch with a vertical and horizontal dowel for Houdini, our African Grey, to use when visiting relatives. They aren't as understanding about messes as we are. My only problem is how to attach a water/food bowl. The horizontal dowel is 1 3/8 inch I think. The vertical is a spindle for a deck. I'll use whatever kind of bowl you can figure to attach. Right now we have stainless steel round, plastic with flat bottoms and plastic with a protruding piece on the bottom that fits into a cut out hole that is part of another playpen. I've looked at photos and at stores, but no one seems to have wooden playpens with bowls. Any help would be appreciated. We leave this week to go visiting again.

I used the food dishes that sit in metal rings. On side if the ring usually has a bolt welded on and a wing nut to secure it to a cage. Drill a pilot hole, remove wing nut thread ring into wood. Think I bought them through foster and smith.

I used the licksit locking treat cups on my homemade playstands.
