My female green cheek conure, Monkey, is in full on hormonal brat mode. She's a little more nippy, swinging her butt around, and trying to nest in random spots. Poor Monster isn't quite sure what to make of her though he did give me a bite the other day for the first time since he first went through maturity a few years ago. Anyone looking for a couple of green cheek conures:54:

So instead of letting her have a hanging basket like I do all my conures I made this for her : )

Obviously I made some for the other brats! I was going to make one for every cage but I couldn't sit still that long since I made Folger an egg carton toy and Loki more foot toys!

I put this one in Lokis cage!

As you can see he didn't have enough toys in his cage:54:

Those look awesome! Hope you don't mind if I'm a copycat!!! Don't know if Jelly is hormonal, just grouchy from molting, or both, but she bit the blood out of my arm for the first time today!!! I'm sure it will get worse before it gets better, and this would be an easier alternative than chewing on my arms! ;)

Thanks! They are a bit spoiled sometimes:rolleyes:

I will be glad when this round if hormones ends! I don't remember them being so annoying last year but I may have blocked it out;)

Jenny I hope your bird chews on one of these instead of your arm! For some reason the green cheek bite just hurts. Can't explain it but Folger doesn't hurt as much he just does more damage.:52:

Those are nice. Where do you get the bird safe baskets?

Today I was adding some paper in Wesley's cage and he bit me in the back. That's the 1st time he's done that. It's that time of year. My GC is always nippy and cranky.

From Lucky Clover Trading they have a website and sell wholesale. If you spend 50 you don't have to pay the extra 8 dollar surcharge. The surcharge is a wholesale policy for them. The baskets feel cheap but they are cheap so.... Who needs a pricey basket when the monsters are just going to rip them apart:) Obviously the bamboo withstood me sticking things through the weave so its not like they just fall apart. The willow is sturdier. Just make sure you pick the natural ones on the website. They have them listed as such if you go in. It will say natural bamboo (or whatever material:)) and undyed.

I think it's because the green cheeks bites feel like someone is stabbing you with needles! Sharp and deep... Ow!!! :) But yes, not as deadly as the big beaks!
