Loved your tutorial, Shirre! Well-paced and put together, and quite the soothing speaking voice.

Of course it would've been nice to actually see our lovely instructor, but your face was dodging that camera lens like it was throwing haymakers! Lol!

Still, thank you for taking the time to make the video.

Now if only you'd get around to the one that you promised so very loooooong ago! Hahaha!

LOL!! I wasn't wearing any makeup, so I wasn't ready for "public" appearances [emoji51] and I personally think I sound completely different in person than I do in videos and on the phone... It's weird lol

And I have no idea what other video you're talking about [emoji6] lol

Excellent video, Shirre! Love the DIY boing! You made it look so easy. Are you going to make a miniature version for the budgies? Chili can't have all the fun. Can't wait to see more of your toy projects.

Thank you, Karen [emoji4]

Stephen, I was thinking more like Morgan freeman [emoji6] kidding!!! Lol and I was just teasing you about the other video [emoji4]

Allee, thank you! [emoji4] the one in this video was for the budgies- even though theirs wasn't as decrepit as Chili's old one, I figured what the heck lol so, everyone got a "new" boing!

I bought some old bird toys a while back and in it were two boings. I was going to throw them away (I hope I haven't already) but now I'm going to save them and give them new rope. How do you know how much rope to buy?

Measure the current rope/wire with a soft measuring tape if you have one, and then add a foot- sometimes it can take up more rope if you wrap it tight. Also- I've discovered that when you buy your pvc caps, get them one size smaller than your rope. So if you're using 3/4" rope, get 1/2" caps.

Thank you. It's not a project that I think I will be doing anytime soon. I keep forgetting that I have to have my house packed and ready to be put on the market by March 1st. I haven't even finished my first room yet so only necessary toys will be made. :D

It really is quite easy and fast, hardest part is to rebend the wire thru the end caps! I used manilla rope to rebuild mine, so it was a bit rough to get it tight enough. I also use tywraps on the ends as I am making it, and left one in place, real close to the caps.

Awesome! I rarely frequented hardware stores before my birds. Now I practically live there because of all the projects I want to finish. This is another one on the list!
