After the paint fumes wear off, I'm totally renovating the room Kiko spends his days in. Although he's pretty small, I am going to build several cargo nets, rope perches, buy some sea-grass mats, ladders, and build swings and toys.

I'm open to suggestions on safe rope for parrots that I can buy at any store. I normally buy it from bird websites, but I'm seeing none of the kind I want, so do any of you have any suggestions? I have a few ideas of my own, but I love hearing from all of you! And have any of you had success with making your own cargo nets? I've only made one so far. And that was a few years ago.

Since Kiko is a 'tiel and it would take him a while to get through most cargo nets, I might stay with cotton rope, if you want something available locally...I dout you could find bird-safe sisal rope locally.....

Good luck.....

Yeah, I just wanted the cargo nets as perches with toys attached. I'm fine with ordering off of Amazon or something, I'm just wondering what common sisal/cotton ropes are safe.(The brand). There was one I used to use, but I forgot it. I could call the producers of the product, I suppose.

Did you, by chance do a search of the forums, there is a recent post about safe sisal rope, but can't say the same about cotton ropes.....

I've been using this stuff. It's fairly slender and I think it would work well for what you are planning.

Hmmn...it sounds like a good brand, and it says Natural, but 'Natural' isn't always safe for parrots. How long have you used it? I heard it has a distinct smell when it is natural? And it doesn't mean it is treated?
