Making a play-stand!

Tachyon needs a play-stand so he can be set up beside my desk where I sit all day; the idea being that whilst im staring at my computer screen, he will think im actually staring at him all day and not paying attention to that boring work stuff that takes my gaze away from his pretty, pretty feathers!

We've got very little money for anything we cant make ourselves so anything like this will have to be made by me. Handily enough, im a pack-rat so I already had on hand: a tall metal pole, a heavy base board, two blocks of timber, a few strips of thin board to use at the newspaper shelf (aka, poo-catcher), some spare willow branches that I could cut down into perches, and a little bit of vet-wrap.

I drilled holes in the pipe and screwed threw them into the perches, I then wrapped this join with a little vet-wrap for extra security. The white pole will be fully wrapped/ out of licking range next week when some more vet-wrap arrives and I can wrap it top to bottom.

The wooden platform under the perches will have newspaper stretched across it for easy changing/cleaning.

Do you mean diameter or length? If diameter, they seem to be the thickness he prefers to get around on (he has thicker perches in and on his cage which is only a meter away if he gets picky lol). If length, I should have mentioned that I spiraled them around the back half of the pole so they go left, back, right, left, back, left, hence the foreshortening effect.

Woohoo, the vet wrap arrived today so I could finish wrapping the play stand



It will be standing between two desks so he cant get to the bottom half below the newspaper (hence why I havnt covered it). No pics of him on it yet .. he's scared of it lol, hes always scared of new things. Ill get out some of his fav treats this afternoon and do some training around it
