This safe hardware?

Is this considered bird safe? I see them used in many builds, but they do have a split in them.

So long as it is stainless steel (not zinc coated or containing any zinc of any kind, zinc is highly toxic to parrots)and has no sharp edges, it should be safe:) Stainless is more expensive, but it's safe!

I had already told you it was safe (as long as you use stainless steel) on the other post. That pic is a cropped image of the pic I posted on the other thread. It's of Zilla's playstand.

If you got it from the hardware store, chances are they contain zinc. Strange thing is, most parrot cages out there come with screws containing zinc!

Stainless is best, but nickel plated steel will do also - MOST bird toys which are not labelled as stainless are nickel plated steel and are safe.
