Pvc or a wooden dowel play stand?

I'm looking to build Lincoln a play stand because they're so expensive go buy. I'm leaning towards making a pvc one because it seems easier to clean as opposed to wood because the wood would just absorb feces and would likely have to be replaced multiple times a year.

Which would be cheaper with just the base prices though? Like not worrying about the cost of replacing it however many times.

Also if you guys have any id love links to instructions on how to build a playstand, I'm looking for all sorts of designs before I settle on one.

Not sure about price but we built our macaws stand with pvc. We do have to replace the vet tape wrap quite often but I buy it bulk from Amazon. The nice thing about pvc is you can add on or make changes to it easily.

Do you have a link to where you buy it on amazon?

Each time I've purchased is been from different sellers. I just search for the best price. I added a pic of Tesla on his stand but I don't have a full view of the stand.

I built a PVC stand for Mango, my GCC a few months ago, and it only cost me about $25 on material. I hope I downloaded the picture correctly to show you.

It looks neat and 25$ isn't that bad. I'd have to build something a lot bigger though since Lincoln is an Ekkie but it's nice to have a price reference. I was thinking about making this:
How to Build Your Parrot a Playstand

I like how it looks and it's size and that the page gives a list of all the materials needed and instructions >>
still looking around though

FYI: Take a look at the last page of the Thread currently running in the Amazon Forum: Male YNA Biting One Specific Person - ... On that current last page is a walk thru on what would work for an YNA, which is a bit bigger.

The 25 mm (1") piping is IMHO a bit light for your Parrot. I would recommend 50 mm (2") piping.

Have Fun with it!

I'll probably be getting the materials this Thursday since a friend has offered to help me make it and we're going job hunting then so it'd be a good time. Wish me luck! Tried to make an ikea chair once and built the whole thing backwards!

PVCeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Yep, I recommend.

And while we're on the subject...
I often shop in the pvc department at our local hardware store for add-ons and toys. So cheap, and safe, and easy to work with.

Great pictures, everybody!

I already have some toys and such I plan to make and put on it but on Friday when I take him to the vet my dad and I were thinking about stopping at a local avian store who's owner supposedly is very knowledgeable on ekkies so he could help me find some more toys and hopefully suggest some better food and supplements. I've never talked to him but my parents talked to him a bit when they were getting bird toys for Christmas.

Lincoln doesn't seem to be that into toys, sometimes he'll nibble at them a little but for the most part he doesn't touch them. I have gotten him to get excited over toilet paper rolls though. Just stuff some almonds in and fold the edges and he loves it! So I'll probably make some more complex toilet paper rolls toys for him. I've already notified my family to not throw them away anymore xD

I googled 'PVC parrot play stands images' and hundreds of models came up. So hard to decide which one to pick! But they are fun and easy to make!

Hi Reni. Nice job on the stand. What type of tape did you use on there.

Hi John, I used vet wrap tape. Of course, it may need to be replaced at some point, but the rolls are quite large and not expensive.
