Hey- I thought it would be fun to pick up some supplies to make a ladder for my new budgie. I didn't do much research so I'm wondering if there is any reason this wouldn't be bird safe? (I'm not done with it, at the end I'm going to make sure there aren't any places the budgie's foot could tangle with the rope!)
The twine is birdsafe, and I would assume the dowel is (not like a tiny budgie would eat it anyways) The beads however, are wood but appear to possibly have a coating of something over it. I would assume that's harmful to birds, but this ladder will only be in the budgie's free fly area where I will be supervising whenever the bird is out so I can stop the budgie if it tries to eat the wood.

You can find plain beads in a craft store. Budgies love to chew on soft woods. Is the ladder line?

Hi, looks good. The beads look like they are sort of varnished. Any chipping or signs of beaks it will need changing pronto. You can change them for acrylic coloured ones available at most craft shops which would look great IMO.

Great stuff on uploading yours pics, vids and gifs btw. This dinosaur is well impressed LOL
