DIY climbing rope/net

Hello :)

Just wanted to show what i've made for my little conure this weekend, and maybe inspire others.

Parrots in general loves to climb around, no matter what species. So why not provide a nice climbing rope/net for our feathered friends. I used natural untreated sisal rope 8mm in diameter. And i approximately used 80-90 metres of rope to just make a climbing net in this size. It takes more rope than you might think. It took me 9 hours of work. At first i wanted to make a cargo style net, but i ended up following a pattern originally intended for bracelets etc. As i figured this pattern would fit nicely for making a climbing net, because of all the half circles all the way down, enabling me to tie the pieces together into one big net. I tied some cork onto the net, to provide foraging opportunities, he loves shredding those apart, plus it keeps his beak in good shape.

Holy Cow that is awesome.

I was just thinking since I believe Henry is also really bored that I need some new toys....this is exactly the kind of DIY project that is up my alley!
